About Us

Our Mission

Longwood First Baptist Church exists to glorify God by making disciples of all peoples, among every generation, in every household.

We live out this mission by celebrating these values:

We glorify God by demonstrating the infinite value of Christ in the way we believe, live, gather and love.

We embrace the gospel by seeking to make disciples who increasingly treasure Christ throughout their lives.

We are called to reach the unreached. We must seek to bring Jesus to every people group, every generation, and even every household.

What To Expect

We have Bible Studies for all ages at 9:45 am, and a worship gathering at 11:00 am.

You will see people wearing anything from shorts to suits. We are not concerned with what’s on the outside, but rather what’s on the inside.

We invite you to park in spots labeled “visitor” which are closer to the church entrance to make your morning easier.
Our Welcome Team will be outside waiting to give you a bulletin as well as coffee, water or lemonade. From there they can also assist you in showing you where to go.
We have age appropriate Bible studies for your children during our Sunday school hour. Someone from our Welcome Team will ensure that your children end up in the right class.

On the 1st and 3rd Sunday’s of each month we have Children’s Worship for children in K-2nd grade that meets during the worship gathering.

Nursery is available both hours. All of our workers are background checked and we have a secure check-in system to ensure the safety of your kids.

Our worship gathering is a time where our church family comes together and exalts our great God. Everything we do on Sunday morning leads us to focus our attention on the cross and the work of Jesus. We invite you to listen to our recent Sermons.

Our music style is blended, combining traditional hymns with contemporary songs. The most important issue in singing is the content of the songs. We believe that singing is a vital way to teach the church truths about who God is and how we relate to him.

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. All Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried.

There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being..

Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself human nature with its demands and necessities and identifying Himself completely with mankind yet without sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body and appeared to His disciples as the person who was with them before His crucifixion. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is the One Mediator, fully God, fully man, in whose Person is effected the reconciliation between God and man. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever present Lord.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls men to the Savior, and effects regeneration. At the moment of regeneration He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service

The gospel is the good news that Jesus died for your sins on the cross and rose from the dead for eternal life. This news is good because if you confess with your mouth and believe with your heart that this good news is true news, you will be forgiven of sin and saved into a secure relationship with God himself..

A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the two ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. The New Testament speaks also of the church as the Body of Christ which includes all of the redeemed of all the ages, believers from every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation.

Our churches official statement of faith is the Baptist Faith and Message. A full copy of that document can be found Here
